Eligibility for becoming a member of the Editorial Board

For consideration, candidates should meet the following criteria:

1. MD, Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field of medical science.
2. A minimum of 5 years of post-MD/Ph.D. or 10 years of post-Master’s degree experience in a specific area of medical science.
3. A track record of at least 10 publications in international research papers.
4. Preference will be given to candidates with a current position as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.

These qualifications will be essential for successful consideration for the role.

Guidelines and Responsibilities

• Support for Open Access: Editorial board members should have a strong commitment to the principles of open access and the goal of making scientific research freely available to the global community. They should actively advocate for open access within the scientific community.
• Peer Review: Editorial board members often play a crucial role in the peer review process. They should have expertise in their respective fields and be willing to review manuscripts impartially and in a timely manner. They should ensure that the peer review process is fair, transparent, and rigorous, maintaining confidentiality and providing constructive feedback to authors.
• Ethical Standards: Editorial board members should adhere to the highest ethical standards and promote ethical conduct in research and publishing. They should be familiar with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and help prevent and address issues such as plagiarism, fraud, conflicts of interest, and other forms of research misconduct.
• Editorial Decision Making: Editorial board members may be involved in making editorial decisions, including acceptance, revision, or rejection of submitted manuscripts. They should base their decisions on scientific merit, originality, relevance, and the journal’s scope. It is important to avoid any personal biases or conflicts of interest that could compromise the integrity of the decision-making process.
• Journal Promotion: Editorial board members can contribute to the visibility and reputation of the journal by actively promoting it within their professional networks. They can encourage authors to submit high-quality research, engage in scholarly discussions related to the journal’s scope, and help disseminate published articles through social media and other channels.
• Editorial Policies and Guidelines: Editorial board members should be familiar with the journal’s specific policies and guidelines, including those related to authorship, data sharing, conflicts of interest, and open data. They should ensure that authors comply with these policies and provide guidance when needed.

• Communication and Collaboration: Editorial board members should maintain effective communication with the journal’s editor-in-chief, other editorial board members, and the journal’s staff. They should collaborate with fellow board members, share their expertise, and contribute to discussions and initiatives aimed at improving the journal’s quality and impact.
