
The World Academy of Medical Sciences has achieved the highest scientific honor and the Grand Prix award at the Archimedes International Inventions and Discoveries Competition in Russia.
A team of three scientists from the World Academy of Medical Sciences won the highest medal at the “Archimedes” global competition, and for the first time in the history of the event, the Grand Prix global award was granted to this team. These researchers from the World Academy of Medical Sciences, based in the Netherlands, presented their projects at this competition after receiving official invitations from international organizations. They won two global gold medals and the Grand Prix global award for their research projects.
In this competition, esteemed professors and significant scientific organizations worldwide evaluate and review discoveries and inventions. The “Archimedes” Global Inventions and Discoveries Competition is the oldest and most prestigious global event of its kind, held annually by the International Federation of Inventors (IFIA) with the support of the United Nations Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Federal Service for Intellectual Property of Russia (ROSPATENT), the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the European Patent Office (EPO), and reputable organizations and universities worldwide in Moscow, Russia.
Dr. Bahram Hassani, the head of the delegation, is the head of the Food Sciences Department at the World Academy of Medical Sciences. Along with his colleagues, Dr. Shahin Gavanji, the President of the Asian Council at the World Academy of Medical Sciences, and Ms. Dayana Hassani, a researcher at the World Academy of Medical Sciences, are three of the scientists participating in this global competition. These researchers represented the World Academy of Medical Sciences in this event, presenting their discovery of a substance extracted from the barberry plant to strengthen the immune system and a new formulation from the pomegranate flower plant. They participated in the Archimedes International Inventions Competition 2025 and won the prestigious “Gold Archimedes” award.

The Grand Prix global award is the highest prize given to the most deserving and outstanding inventors for a collection of global inventions, discoveries, and innovative projects presented at the competition. It is worth mentioning that these scientists are members of the board of the World Academy of Medical Sciences in the Netherlands and have published numerous articles in reputable ISI journals. Dr. Bahram Hassani holds a Ph.D. in Food Technology.
This young Iranian scientist is the head of the Food Industry Department at the World Academy of Medical Sciences (WAMS). He has several patents and has authored specialized works and numerous articles in top-tier journals with high impact factors. He has also been a speaker at many international conferences.
He is a group manager and a faculty member at the World Academy of Medical Sciences in the Netherlands. Among his honors are being named the top entrepreneur in the country in the field of modern technologies, the best international researcher at the World Academy of Medical Sciences (WAMS), a selected manager by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), a member of the Intercontinental Council at the World Academy of Medical Sciences, a member of the research team in Europe and the USA, an exemplary national exporter, and a winner of the National Managers and Manufacturers Festival of the Iranian House of Industry and Mining, as well as a national model manager.
He has also been named the best young entrepreneur at the National Iranian Youth Festival. He has been a member of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce’s board of representatives for many years and is currently engaged in research and collaboration with numerous international scientific centers. Dr. Bahram Hassani has conducted extensive research in the field of food science and technology to improve the global food safety standards and protect basic resources and ecosystems.

Mr. Shahin Gavanji is another member of this three-person research team. Among the honors of this young Iranian scientist are his membership in the board of the World Academy of Medical Sciences (WAMS) in the Netherlands and his role as the President of the Asian Council at this Academy. He has international collaborations with prominent universities and scientific institutions worldwide. Gavanji has received various national and international awards from countries such as the United States, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Poland, Hungary, and more.
Notable achievements include winning the global IWIS award and the global Innovation Award, as well as ranking first in invention among all students at universities across Iran, securing the top position in the field of engineering and technology in Iran, and being named the top inventor at the Islamic Azad University of Iran.
In 2025, he received a prestigious global award in the state of Carolina, USA. Additionally, he was named the Best Young Inventor of the Year in Iran. Due to his scientific and research projects, Gavanji was selected by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology as the Best Young Scientist and Technologist of Iran. He is currently a member of the editorial board of many prestigious international scientific journals at various universities and has published over 100 articles in renowned ISI, ISC, scientific and research journals, and presented at scientific conferences.
The youngest and most exceptional member of this research team is Dayana Hassani, a senior researcher at the World Academy of Medical Sciences (WAMS) in the Netherlands. She has published numerous articles in top-tier ISI journals with the highest impact factors worldwide.
This young Iranian scientist, who has spent years strengthening a knowledge-based structure rooted in comprehensive study and research, along with deep connections to universities, distinguished national professors, and other international scientific institutions, is now standing at the forefront of the Archimedes International Inventions Competition in Russia in the fields of medicine and food industries.
Dayana Hassani has received the highest recognition among all teams from 75 prominent countries and won the gold medal in this competition, competing with leading inventors from around the world. One of the notable characteristics of this young genius is her continuous, active, and intelligent pursuit of discovering, interpreting, rethinking phenomena, events, and behaviors, and finding scientific and technological solutions. We wish her continued success and the pride of Iran.
In this scientific competition, many inventors and scientists from universities and research institutions from over 75 countries, including the USA, Canada, Russia, Croatia, Australia, India, the UK, Denmark, Bulgaria, the Philippines, Ireland, Kuwait, the Czech Republic, Bahrain, Egypt, France, Iceland, South Korea, China, Sweden, and Iran, participated. Due to the uniqueness of these young scientists’ projects, after winning two global gold medals and the prestigious Grand Prix award, this three-person team will attend an international science and technology symposium in Canada to present and discuss their results, explore molecular mechanisms, and share experiences with other scientists from around the world.
