Dr. Hassan Hotait is the Head of the Histology Unit and a Consultant Anatomic Pathologist in Dubai Hospital, Dubai Health Authority. He is also a Senior Lecturer in the Academic Department of Histopathology at the Dubai Medical College. He has more than 25 years of experience in surgical pathology and cytopathology with special interest in gastrointestinal and liver pathology.

He received his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Granada, Spain, in 1989, and was awarded the Spanish board in Anatomic Pathology from the National Institute of Surgical Specialties and Research of Madrid (Hospital Puerta de Hierro), in 1994. He also obtained a Ph.D. in the Pathology of Liver Cancer from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Madrid, in 1995.

Dr. Hotait is the author of numerous articles in pathology, written in Spanish, English and Arabic. He serves on the editorial boards of several national and regional journals, and as an ad-hoc reviewer on multiple medical and scientific journals. Dr. Hotait has served as the Vice President of The Pathology Society of The Emirates Medical Association till 2015, after which he was elected as the General Secretary of the society.

Dr. Hotait has been invited as a Guest Speaker in many local and regional medical conferences and is the recipient of numerous honors and awards for his academic and professional achievements. In 2019, he was elected as a Fellow of WAMS for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of the medical sciences.
