Prof. Hiten R.H. Patel is the Chairman of the National Council of Norway and an Academy Fellow.
Prof. Patel is an expert in the field of Urology. He work with a team of healthcare professionals to offer a rounded service to people seeing him.
He has held positions for teaching in the field of Minimal Access Surgery, Robotics and Simulation and was until recently, Deputy Director of the Minimal Access Surgery and Simulation Centre at University College London Hospital. He has co-led the implementation of minimal access surgery within several units including the Section of Laparoscopy and Robotic Surgery at University of Rochester Medical Centre (URMC), Rochester New York. He has also recently been Hon. Clinical Senior Lecturer, Bart’s & The London, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).
Currently, Prof, Patel is a Professor of Surgery & Urology, and Director of Robotic Urological Surgery, University Hospital North Norway, supervising high quality research through PhD and MSc programmes, having published over 300 articles, book chapters, abstracts and books.
